Innovation, technology, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion are important areas of focus for Iron Mountain. We are committed to making meaningful contributions to the communities we serve. Over the past year, we have been honored to receive recognition for these efforts. Below are just a few of our recent achievements.
Google Cloud recognized our innovative thinking, technical excellence, and ability to transform in the cloud with its Google Cloud Customer Awards in Financial Services. We are extremely proud to be one of the first organizations selected for this new award.
The award recognizes our expertise in mortgage document processing and our ability to train machine learning models to automate document classification and data extraction, deliver advanced exception management, and unlock insights for a large financial services company.
We’re one of America’s most responsible companies, according to Newsweek! We ranked #93 out of 499 on Newsweek’s third annual ranking of America’s Most Responsible Companies.
To create the list, global data research firm Statista created a pool of candidates, selecting the 2,000 largest public companies by revenue in the U.S. They then screened companies who published public documents, such as a Corporate Responsibility Report ,and completed a detailed analysis, including a survey of 11,000 U.S. citizens.
JPMorgan Chase has named Iron Mountain as one of its Strategic Gold Suppliers for our partnership and commitment to supplier diversity.
According to JPMorgan Chase, all Gold Suppliers have collectively agreed to increase their spending with diverse-owned businesses by $6.2 billion over the next three years. As part of our contribution to that goal through our own Supplier Diversity Program, we've committed to achieving $70M spend with diverse suppliers by 2023, with $4.1M of that spend with Black- and LatinX-owned businesses.
Our Global Business Services (GBS) organization was recognized in the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON) Analytics’ 2021 benchmarking study. This study recognizes the world’s Top 20 Most Admired Shared Services Organizations and Global Business Services. According to the SSON, it aims to celebrate the achievements made over the past year and capture key objectives, strategies, and benchmarks from leading brands identified by the SSON community.
With our GBS organization just recently celebrating its first anniversary, we couldn’t be more proud of this achievement!
For the fourth consecutive year, we received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) - designating us as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
The CEI measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. We proudly join the ranks of 767 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks in 2021.
We’re pleased to announce that we scored a 90/100 on the 2021 Disability Equality Index for the second year in a row. The Disability Equality Index is a comprehensive benchmarking tool developed by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN.
The 2021 survey measured culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community engagement and supplier diversity. While we’re proud of our score of 90,we continue the journey to ensure a workplace of inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Our Global Chief Technology Officer Kimberly Anstett was recognized in Forbes’ CIO Next 2021 list of 50 Innovative Technology Leaders. According to Forbes, “this new annual list highlights top tech executives who are redefining the CIO role and driving game-changing innovation.”
Anstett was recognized for her role in the evolution of our cloud-native Content Service Platform (CSP), Iron Mountain InSight®, which uncovers insights from our customers’ physical and digital assets. This list showcases the work of leaders during a time when technology has never been more important. Anstett is among those who led the shift in their industries when businesses needed to pivot in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chris Pennington, Director of Energy and Sustainability for Iron Mountain Data Centers, was named 2021 Leader of the Year by the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) Green Power Leadership Awards. The award program focuses on companies and people who actively promote and expand the use of clean, renewable energy. Recipients of team awards included Google, Microsoft and Climate Action Pathways. Chris received the only individual award!
While renewable energy seems like a comparatively new industry, it’s become a major player in recent years. Some of the largest companies in the world (including us) are setting ambitious carbon-free energy goals within the next few decades. To get there, the use of colocation data centers (facilities where businesses rent server space) fueled by 100% renewable energy is becoming more important.
