Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Many organisations account and report on the emissions they generate, and have set goals to reduce these emissions over time. Increasingly, organisations have also begun to engage with their supply chains to account for emissions from “cradle to grave,” meaning along the complete lifecycle. By collaborating with suppliers, organisations can assess what emissions are material to their business, and look for innovative ways to reduce them.

Iron Mountain^® Secure e-Waste and IT Asset Disposition (Secure ITAD) services enable you to securely dispose of obsolete IT assets in an environmentally-responsible manner through certified partner organisations. You can also maximise your asset value recovery with industry-leading logistics and secure chain of custody processes.

Iron Mountain works with e-Stewards or R2 certified partner organisations that follow the strictest environmental and data privacy guidelines. Customers have the option to retain the value of retired IT assets through refurbishment, data sanitisation, and reselling at market price. This allows customers to participate in the circular economy while reducing the total cost of ownership and fully maintaining security and sustainability requirements. Assets can also be recycled and we adhere to the strictest guidelines including a no-overseas and no-landfill policy.

The Path to Greener E-Waste Disposal

At Iron Mountain, we’re always looking for ways to improve our own environmental performance within our operations. We’re proud of our Eco Box, made from 80% recycled materials and 20% from sustainably managed forests. It’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a group that works to ensure forests are properly and responsibly maintained to meet economic needs, conserve biodiversity and preserve species, while also taking into account land rights and the rights of indigenous communities and workers.
