Intake, inspection and sorting, including chain of custody. Metadata collection from visible data on physical asset, as well as photographic scans.

Remediate

Perform QC and verification that asset is playable. Repair, correct, reverse or halt damage to an asset from various causes, including natural degradation, neglect or environmental damage. Utilize unique, patent-pending techniques and equipment to recover assets previously thought unrecoverable.

Digitize

Migrate physical video assets to digital files that comply with customer requirements for long-term storage or re-purposing for digital use, such as streaming on YouTube, Netflix, etc. These physical assets are often at high risk of loss due to inherent instability of the recording media and obsolescence of the playback technologies.

Transcode

Convert digital video files of one type to another, often because the target device that will be used to display the content requires a smaller file size, such as streaming for viewing on tablets or smartphones. Our experts and technology are capable of transcoding from any file format to any file format, to meet all customer specifications.

Deliver

Delivery specifications and technologies are customized to customer needs. We regularly work with our own Smart Vault, HDDs, LTOs, FTP sites, and Aspera, but can deliver in any way required by the client.

Data restoration is a service to retrieve digital files from legacy physical assets (e.g., LTO, data tapes, HDDs, CD/DVDs, etc) and migrate them to a current standard long-term storage medium or seed them to the Cloud.

Initial intake/ inspection and sorting of all material, to include creation of tracking document, and any barcoding/noninvasive labeling as needed to properly track. Metadata collection which includes metadata capture from physical asset as well as asset photographic scans. (IE: hard drive, LTO, data disc, data tape)

Remediate

Media Remediation is the process of repairing, correcting, reversing or stopping damage to an asset from various causes. Remediation is often needed due to natural degradation, neglect or environmental damage.

Restore

Digital files are often at high risk of loss due to inherent obsolescence of the ability to read the media that store them (n.b., hardware and software).

Data restoration is a service to retrieve digital files from legacy physical assets (e.g., LTO, data tapes, HDDs, CD/DVDs, etc) and migrate them to a current standard long-term storage medium.

Process

Conversion & Processing covers:

a) Conversion of the files to a new format (i.e., document to a pdf) or current version (i.e updated LTO tape format)

b) Processing is the act of enriching/enhancing the asset with OCR, AI/ML enriched metadata, manual embedded metadata, etc.

c) File and folder organization (e.g., renaming, reorg, etc)

Deliver

Method of how client is to receive digital files after completion or Iron Mountain Media & Archive Services posting/pushing the files to an end destination (e.g., Cloud or Smart Vault)
